DataJini data warehouse
DataJini data warehouse builds and maintains a performing multi terabyte consolidated data warehouse, fully compliant with the DataJini approach, beneficial to all industry verticals.
It is a generic products build in Oracle PL/SQL and extracts data from Oracle and other vendors via Oracle Gateway. The development-process and maintenance-process is completely automated, so no need for expensive and time consuming development team and Dba’s
How it works
• DataJIni data warehouse comes with a built-in repository. This repository is populated with relevant meta data from a source database en enriched with additional configuration information like destination tablespaces, table aliases, object prefixes etc.
• The DataJini repository is used to generate and execute DML and DDL automatically and with optimal performance
• DataJini data warehouse analyses how the source-data is physically stored in order to load large tables in parallel (virtual partitioning) enabling high performance during short night-time load-window
• DataJini data warehouse extensively uses available meta-data (data dictionary) from source systems
Technology
• Oracle PL/SQL
• Executes 100% inside the Oracle database
• DataJini webgui (.NET user interface) can be used (not necessarily) for web-enabling the DataJini repository, the source database or the destination database (data warehouse)
Advantages DataJini data warehouse
• Short time to market
• Reduced costs (both development and maintenance)
• Consistent build data warehouse
• Flexible solution
• Optimizes performance batch execution
Features
• Built-in intelligent execution engine. This execution engine will max-out hardware resources (Oracle RAC or large multi CPU server, storage, network)
• Managed mirror implements fine-grained scoping (only tables and column needed) which reduces storage requirements and enhancing performance (unlike 1:1 reporting databases)
• Unlike read-only reporting databases, an DataJini data warehouse features the ability to add indexes and other Oracle objects optimizing reporting facilities.
• Different load methods can be used interchangeably like “full”, “full parallel”, “delta” based on logminer/CDC
• Can use Oracle Flashback query/Total Recall to create a cross-source consistent “point in time”
• 100% model-driven/data-driven
Key figures
• Capable of replacing a manual build multi terabytes data warehouse with OWB and reduce the initial efforts from 18 man-years to 1 man-year.
• Up to 10 times better batch execution performance
